Broken Sword: The Angel of Death

What is it? Broken Sword is an adventure game similar in many respects to games like Grim Fandango and Monkey island. You play as George Stobbart (the standard American hero) and Nicole Collard (a foxy French woman), in an adventure revolving around a history and mythology. The game focuses on you solving puzzles, finding clues and moving from one area to the next. The stories are usually brilliant too - with this one not looking likely to disappoint with players travelling across New York, Istanbul, Vatican City and Phoenix.


Why we're excited: Retro gaming is always brilliant and Broken Sword is certainly in the retro division of gaming titles. There are so many reasons to be excited, for one the game is being developed by a new studio, Sumo Digital. For another, this could be the last game in the series, as rumours surrounding the game suggest a main character could end up dead in this one. Either way, the game will be PC only as the previous game recorded poor console sales.
